Nearly finished essay thank goodness. Proposal I am tackling today. Have managed a little bit of painting which is very exciting in between studying for the two. Actually I cant wait to start painting properly. My shop is the perfect place to study people. There are so many different characters all with wonderful stories. A lady whom i was talking to yesterday has just come back from a trip on the Orient Express down to Venice WOW !I have been to Venice a long time ago and Iwould love to go back. She is a wonderful person and I felt all the excitment of the trip through her.
Any way will have to get on with my proposal now. Helens work is fab, I think her layered negatives especially the ones with a little bit of colour in our really beatutiful ( I want one! ). Penni's exhibition looked very interesting i wished I could have gone.
I think Helen is going to put some photos on of the Eastbridge Exhibition with Pauline, Gary, Beccy, Jodie, Nova  and Trevor so that will be interesting. regards everyone cazzie

The sorrows of laughing anne

Exhibition 12 to 15 April 2012

The sorrows of laughing anne

Penni Pierce, Frances Williams and Tony Foster at The Electrician's Basement, Trinity Buoy Wharf

A collection of original art installations using film, sound and objects,

'Titled after a character from the 1970's comic Mandy, this multimedia exhibition features work which respondes to contained situations of ambivalence and uncertainty, heading off the resulting spilage.'

Attended the Private view along with friends (fellow graduates from UCA Canterbury) to support Penni alongside Tony and Franky. Great industrial setting for the collection of installations that ranged from projection, Mavis Diptych (video stills), archive stills brought together by their absent curator Mavis Passmore. Video installation shows the interaction of two people across a dining table, exploring emotion through metaphors. Sound installation formed from usually ignored background noises, pipes carry their echoes.

Sent project proposal to tutor

Started essay this evening after several terrible attempts ( having trouble, thinking methodically what ever that is ha ha ) Any way will have another go.
Haven't manage to pick up a brush to start painting, but i am still working on theory side of my practice.
I am sorting my studio area so i can get more than two easils up to start work . Bought a fantastic antique Rococo frame, which is wonderful and it's large. I can't wait to get painting again, I can't sleep where i get so excited. I think it's because i can see the painted canvas in it already, lots of flourescent pinks and oranges (my favorite's) and expanses of grey, matt (and if you was to run your nails over, it would make your back all fizzy) large noses, lots of laughter and a Vermeer floor, i can see them appearing. Well thats what i am thinking at the mo, anyway got to go back to essay.cy
